Vladimir Ilyich Lenin was preserved (mummified) after his death.

Some time after that, he was relocated to the famous black mausoleum in Red Square, Moscow, just outside the north west wall of the Kremlin.

There are great efforts taken to continue the preservation of Comrade Lenins earthly remains prompting many to think that there may not be very much of his actual human body left, it being mostly morticians putty these days.

However, with the subdued lighting inside the mausoleum which is all focussed on Comrade Lenin, the mausoleum being closed off to all sources of natural light, and the rapid pace at which you are marched around the viewing area, he appears to be just laying down for a bit of a rest.
