Nelson Mandela helped stop apartheid by being stuck in jail for about 28 years. Martin Luther king ended segregation by making speeches and making boycottes.
Nelson was affected by prejudicity when he saw thatt his freedom was taken away from him because then he had to stand up for him and all his race (black) and he didn't stop he got sent to jail because he was a black and that is being prejudice.

Nelson Mandela was put in jail as white members of some governments thought that it was wrong for him to be violent as he had tried other options and they didn't work. So...technically he was put in jail for fighing for his rights, and for others to stop being politically racist which he then did try to get equal rights for black and white people.
