Think about it for a moment, the colonies were poor and could not afford the massive amount of taxas on imported goods from anywhere but britin. all the taxas that were made was to help pay for the french and Indian war which the colonists were not apart of, and they had to help pay for the war + all the taxas. now if you have to pay for a 30$ cup of coffe and a british citizen only paid 2$ would you be mad?

It was quite reasonable for the British Empire to expect the colonies to pay for the French and Indian War. A lot of the colonists' resentment was due to lack of representation in Parliament ('taxation without representation is tyranny'), coupled with the Empire's insistence on controlling all trade into and out of the colonies, so as to maximize revenue. There was also a growing feeling among the colonists that they weren't really British anymore - a lot of them had been born in the colonies, or had left the UK due to religious and/or political differences, and felt no particular attachment to the Empire.

The British Parliament could have taken several actions to resolve their differences with the colonists and strengthen relations with America. They could have given the colonists representation in Parliament, allowing them a say in the laws that affected them.
