There are total 3 methods to make amendments in Indian constitution. The Methods of Amendments in Indian ConstitutionThe Amendments in Indian Constitution can be made in three ways. Those can be described as below: By simple majority of the Parliament, before sending them for the consent of the President.By special majority of the Parliament where two-thirds majority of the total number of members are required.By special majority of the Parliament and also by ratification by half of the state legislatures by special majority
The question is confusing because the word 'Amendment' itself means 'change'. The Founding Fathers ratified the Constitution then added in the original 10 amendments (I thought) everybody learned about in school--the Bill of Rights. Total, there are 27 Amendments to the US Constitution. There has been only one 'change' in the Amendments, and that involves the 18th and 21st Amendments. The first enacted Prohibition, the latter repealed it.
The Indian Constitution is applicable in the 21st century because it provides a robust framework for governance that is adaptable and has provisions for amendments to keep up with changing times. Its principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity are timeless and relevant to modern society. The Constitution also safeguards democratic values and protects the rights of all citizens, ensuring its continued relevance in the 21st century.
