Why do you think china's one child policy is good?

To help reduce the population growth of the country.
• China needed to reduce pressure on resources. • In 1959 the average family had 7.5 children .

• Without the policy the population of china would increase to about 2 billion.

China should get rid of the one child policy because now men in china are looking for wives and there's not enough of the female gender. The one child policy is making people in china really scared to have another child. Many Chinese people want to have boys so if they have a girl first they would most likely leave it to die. but now china have calmed down a bit and changed the rule to if you have a girl first time your aloud to try again to maybe get a boy. The one child policy has destroyed a lot of people's lives in the past but if this is how it continues that there are not enough females then there going to have to get rid of it

Also, as the preferred gender in China is males, the people in China are getting abortions if their only child is female. This has caused girls to get kidnapped, at the youngest age of fourteen, for brides. As the people can't find wives.

To try and even up the numbers, the government has banned gender testing. This has caused people to go and do it illegally.

Baby girls are sometimes abandoned once there gender has been checked. Is this a way to treat a human being? Although, it is a traditional Chinese belief that "yo are not a human being if you don't have a son"

It has created a giant old population who require support, which should be provided by the government, who get the money through taxes. They raise taxes to pay for the support, and the on child policy has severely cut down on the population of the working age group.

Secondly, it causes female infanticide, or the killing of girl babies. The drop in the female population has caused men to be unable to find wives, further hammering on population sustainability. And the general problem of not having many females in one of the largest and most influential countries in the world.
