You can join the RADC as a direct entry Commissioned Officer but you must have a degree in Dentistry from a recognised (EU) univeristy. You can join the RADC as a soldier in various forms. A Dental Support Specialist is a uniformed dental nurse who has the military and professional skills necessary to perform their duties within the military both operationally and non-operationally. They can go on to become practice managers and administrators or train as dental hygienists if selected. A dental technician can also join the military as a Non-Commissioned Officer soldier but they are now fully trained before they join. Believe it or not the RADC although unglamourous and boringly practical is very competitive to join. Soldiers transferring in from other Corps and Regiments have t pass a tough academic and practical selection process. Joining directly into the RADC requires no academic qualifications but the recruiting staff at your local careers office will not support your application to join the RADC if you do not convince them you pass the training to become a Class 1 soldier in the RADC. It is not everyones cup of tea but if you want to serve in the Army and may not have the skills or the wish to join the 'Teeth Arms' perhaps the RADC is the Corps for you? Ex dentibus ensis!
