This committed each nation to consider an attack on one of them to be an attack on all. 14 more nations have joined since, with another 4 due in 2009. To become a NATO soldier, you must first enlist in the armed forces of a NATO member country, as NATO itself does not have its own standing army. This typically involves meeting specific eligibility criteria, such as age, fitness, and educational requirements. After enlisting, soldiers undergo basic training and may later receive specialized training for NATO operations. Additionally, soldiers may participate in joint exercises and missions with other NATO forces to enhance interoperability.
