The Nato 49ner was stamped by a large gun distrubuter back in the 70's no one can find out by whom or how many was made
It is a private labeled model made by High Standard for a large distributor and shipped in 1972. These where not sold through their catalogs or price lists. They have nothing to do with NATO or the Military. Not mentioned in the Blue Book because the Book does not list private labeled guns. Looks like the Double Nine Model but marked on left side of barrel, NATO 49er. Anyone having more info please post. NATO standard refers to the standard round used by all NATO countries troops so if a country is operating with another country and the guy from the other country runs out of ammo he can pick up the other mans ammo. The NATO standard for Assault Rifles is 5.56X45mm NATO and for pistols 9X19mm NATO.
The standard NATO cartridge is the 62 grain 5.56x45 SS109.
I think you mean NATO as in NATO Standard but this is coffee tea with two sugars.
5.56mm x 45mm (5.56 is the diameter of the buller, 45mm is the length of the brass casing). NATO implies that this is THE 5.56mm round used by NATO forces. Similar to 7.62mm x 51mm NATO is the standard .30 caliber round use by NATO forces.
The HK21 uses NATO standard 7.62x51 cartridges.
Yes, these models exist, mainly due to the fact that the Czech Republic joined NATO in 1999, they had to use the 9mm rounds because it was standard issue to pistols used by NATO members. There are other varieties for commercial use, for example, the pistols offered by CZ-USA.
It uses a 9x19mm Parrabullum NATO round, which is the standard round for most pistols and submachine guns made by countries in NATO.
7.62 mm NATO AmmoThe first standard NATO cartridge, the 7.62 x 51mm NATO, was developed by the United States as a successor to the .30 Caliber M2 round (30-06), which had served as the standard U. S. rifle cartridge since 1906.The standard .30 Caliber M2 cartridge propelled a 150 grain projectile at a muzzle velocity of 2,800 fps (848 mps). That's 848 meters per second not miles.
5.56 nato or civilain 223 remington
430 MPa (62,366 psi) for NATO standard 5.56 ammunition. This is what is required of all NATO test barrels, which are measured at the mouth of the casing.
