Possibly a banded alder borer? Possibly a banded alder borer?
The flying insect you are describing is most likely a Western Cicada Killer wasp (Sphecius grandis) native to California. It is a large, solitary wasp that preys on cicadas and is known for its distinctive yellow and black striped body, transparent wings, and long antennae. These insects are not aggressive towards humans, as their main focus is on hunting cicadas for their young.
Spider wasps have curled antennae and black wings but can also have different color markings such as red or yellow . The female spider wasp will hunt spiders to feed it's larvae.
The name of the black and white bird with blue wings is the Magpie.
The kind of moth that has black and white wings is called a "panda moth."
The boxelder bug is a black bug whose wings are orange-striped in the shape of the letter "y." The insect in question (Boisea trivittata) sports two sets of wings, with the upper set being edged in orange.
I saw what I thought was a white slug but after picking it up and examining it, it was not slimy. I then realized it was a moth. It was very white with black protuberances that looked like snail antennae. It also has some black on the ridge of the back which was probably the wings folded up.

Antennae? That sounds like a bug, not a bird. What region is this in? Off the top of my head, red body and black wings could be: Northern Cardinal (male) Scarlet Tanager Summer Tanager Pine Grosbeak Purple Finch (male) The cardinal's crest could be what is meant by antennae.
I have not encountered any tiny black bugs with white wings that bite recently.
