I am bipolar and have noticed major slips into the depression side after taking 10-20 mg of adderal for 2-3 days in a row.
i dont know if it is linked to the reaction with the medication i take daily (lamictal) but i have definitely noticed a change for the worse when i take adderal.
Amphetamines, including Adderall, can cause withdrawal symptoms in people who stop taking them too quickly. However, Adderall withdrawal is more likely to happen when people take higher doses of Adderall than recommended. People who take Adderall as prescribed for a legitimate medical purpose do not usually have withdrawal symptoms when stopping Adderall. Some withdrawal symptoms of Adderall can include extreme fatigue, depression, and changes in heart rhythm.
Amphetamine (addreall) is not contraindicated with Bupriopion (Wellbutrin). For example, some psychiatrists may treat ADHD with Adderall and concurrent depression with Bupropion. Occasionally, Adderall or other stimulants may be used by psychiatrists to treat refractory depression (depression that doesn't respond well to first-line treatments). Adderall for depression is an off-label use. Anyways, Adderall and Bupropion XL are not contraindicated by each other. However, this warning applies: "Adderall + Bupropion XL: Caution Advised. Combo may incease risk of seizures (additive effects)." If you have any pesonal or family history of seizures, be sure to discuss this with your prescribing physician. If there are separate physicians prescribing the Adderall and Bupropion, make sure they are both aware you are on both medications. Follow the advice of your physicians and pharmacists
unless you have depression, i dont think that the wellbutrin is needed. i got put on adderall xr and wellbutrin at first but they counteracted eachother. adderall should do the jobalone
One of the possible side effects of Adderall (an amphetamine) is anxiety. This should be taken into account by your physician when prescribing other drugs.
Because Adderall is presdcribed for the treatment of ADHD, depression, and narcolepsy. If you have either of these(or similar diseases) you will be prescribed Adderall. Xanax is prescribed for people with anxiety, insomnia and epilepsy. So if you were for example a patient with ADHD and anxiety you may be prescribed Xanax and Adderall.
adderall affects dopamine and (to a much lesser extent) norepinephrine and can be used for treatment resistant depression. in my opinion they work better as anti depressants than all the SSRIs, SNRIs, etc I've taken. i also have ADD though,
Yes it can help some with depression. It is advisable to try the SSRI or SNRI drugs before trying adderall. Adderall has been found useful in those non-responsive to traditional methods such as talk therapy coupled with an SSRI or SNRI, i.e. paxil, prozac, lexapro, cymbalta, pristiq, effexor, wellbutrin, celexa, zoloft etc.

Talk to your doctor immediately and stop taking it if the condition (for which you are on Adderall) you have isn't life threatening. You will need to get a different prescription that doesn't have depression as a side effect. Depression can be caused by your body's chemical imbalance to the drug. Try to find a natural way to help your body, drugs always have side effects.
One main reason the Great Depression ended is because World War II came to an end. The Great Depression began in 1929.
I think it can. I just did a Google search with this same question. I have depression and chronic fatigue/hypersomnia. I was prescribed adderall and it seems that I have gone into a deeper hole into depression. I took Ritalin also. The first 6 days were great, but day 7 and 8, i was like a zombie. Maybe I didn't give it enough time. But, anyway, i am feeling depressed and I think it is from the adderall xr.
I'm assuming you mean adderall. Adderall is a stimulant that affects the neurotransmitter serotonin in your brain. Serotonin is the chemical that (to be non technical with it) affects your happy thoughts and overall feelings of well being. So yes adderall can help with depression in a way but its a very habit forming drug that you can build a resistance to causing you to need more and more as time progresses. This is not a good thing. Also stimulants are not very heathy for kids and teens whose brains are still developing. Its a quick but not permanent fix that has numerous side effects. Adderall is usually prescribed to help with ADHD, but you see various symptoms of ADHD can be seen in people suffering from depression so it may seem like it helps but its not the right medication you should be taking for depression. I am prescribed the medication adderall but I am very careful as to how I use it! It works miracles on my concentration level but this drug is pretty much like the recreational drug speed causing those who may not need it to be extra productive and feel very euphoric and passionate about things.... its a good feeling but has many negative effects. If you're looking for medication for depression adderall is not your answer. Its also a schedule 2 drug meaning that if it did not have medicinal purposes it would be illegal! Also that means that in order to have your prescription filled you need a handwritten prescription every time you fill it with no refills, and an id.
