Yes. The hornet's sting can infect the skin far worse then a bee or wasp on some scales. Allowing the skin to be infected with any of the three insects has a possibility of being fatal, usually depending on what way it affects you skin. For example, being severely allergic to bee stings, you would be in more danger if you didn't treat a sing properly as soon as possible. Whether having a known allergy or not, you should treat a hornet sting with the same amount of caution and should taken care of immediately. [That does not mean running around screaming and yelling that your going to die. I doesn't work.]
