[1] It's soapy water that kills bees. In fact, soapy water's just the homemade equivalent of insecticidal soap. [2] The outer bodies of bees are coated with wax. The soap breaks through the wax, and lets the water in. The bees then drown. [3] It's always important to cover up, and work fast, around bees. For they get angry, and sting. So perhaps the safest strategy is calling in an organization that removes bees for free, for medical research and medicines.
