Actually they eat live leaves (green).
Most millipedes eat decaying leaves and other dead plant matter, moisturising the food with secretions and then scraping it in with its jaws.
If you are keeping them in captivity, feed them dead leaves preferably oak, organic fruit and veg such as cucumber, carrot, apple etc. Also add a few dead inscts sometimes.
As we know Millipede's thrives by eating decaying leaves and grasses. Hence a number of folded-up leaves on decaying materials is enough to make home for Millipede... :)
