Do pill bugs take care of their young?

That choice is your choice. You can release the pill bug, you can keep it and raise its babies, or you can keep yours and release the babies. If you want to keep your pill bug than just raise it like it was a normal pill bug. Do the same with the babies. That is, if you want to keep them. Just relax. It is your own choice any way you go will do.

I'm not sure if this is accurate but as a kid i had a bunch and when i saw one with a yellow belly i thought it was pregnant note: the black shelled ones never had any i think only the light colored shelled pillbugs are girls i may be wrong

Get any type of see through jar and fill it up with a few centimeters of moist (not wet) sand. Next, insert your pill bugs. Carefully place rough twigs, bark pieces, rock, etc. To keep their environment moist and not dried up, lightly spray habitat with tap or refrigerated water (chemical free). Note: Pill bugs can multiply fast so remember to choose only males if you want a limited number of pets. If your pill bugs do give babies, make sure that you pick up their old skin and droppings because they do molt their skin 4 or 5 times as they grow.
