Turtle shells are a part of a turtle's body! A shell is basically made of bones (60 meshed together) and their spine is actually embedded into its shell. Contrary to what they show in cartoons, turtles can't take of their shell any more than you can take off your skin.
The only way you can tell is: 1)You must hard-boil the egg 2)Peel off the shell 3)Take the shell you peeled off and peel its layers off. That's it. That simple.
i think its the same thing as a turtle where the spinal cord is connected to the shell so if you take the shell off in a matter of time it will die.

Make sure the cable is unplugged and take off the blade. Take off the plastic shell and do what you need to do from there!! :-)
