Yes, a butterfly cannot live without it's wings. It brings pain to the butterfly, therefore making the butterfly motionless. Eventually, it'll die out from hunger. The wings support the butterfly to fly, to find food. If it does not bring any pain to the butterfly, (Which I doubt.) my guess would be that it would be unbalanced, and would not be able to reach it's destination for food.
