Generally speaking when you cook something at a medium to high heat you kill any parasites or pathogens. However, that does not mean you want to feed cooked food to cats.

As cats are obligatory carnivores the best possible diet they can have is raw meat, bones, organs[if they are not getting access to stomach in their diet and do not go outside it may be necessary to buy a taurine supplement, as this is vital for a cats survival] and the occasional semi-cooked egg[only cooked long enough to kill the bacteria, not long enough to coagulate]. DO NOT feed them cooked human food as a primary diet, it can be very harmful and cause many problems later on in life. Liver/kidney failure, cancers and immune deficiencies being among the list of possible problems.

When meat is cooked you remove all the vital bacteria and other goodies that a cat requires in their diet in order to be healthy. If you wish to further explore this look up raw meat diets for cats, there are plenty of great sources online and several great books that have been published on the topic.

The best way to make sure your cats do not get worms is to give them a de-worming pill as instructed by your vet[this is usually once every 3 months]. They are cheap and worth it for your much beloved companion.
