How can you tell the difference between a male and female stink bug?

I have a brown marmorted stink bug as a pet and if your wondering how to tell the gender I will tell you. so how you tell is Male stink bugs have a dark belly, which mine does. and on the other half females have a light belly. also mine has a purple square underneath its belly, which means it is also a Male. while Females don't have it underneath there belly. And also if any of you folks have a pet brown marmorted stink bug I will give you some tips about keeping them and how to take care of them. so what I did to keep my little buddy which is a Male I found this poor little thing a few weeks ago in my kitchen crawling around on the floor so I put it outside to see what it would do and I went back outside to see what it was doing and the poor little thing was staying still freezing so I figured I would bring it in and put it in a container for now until I do some research about this little bug. and i did and i found out what they eat and they eat strawberries, potatoes, peaches, and carrots. and i watched a care video, the video was on YouTube. the person was lori's heartland. she put it in a mason jar, and put zoo meds eco earth in the jar. so a week later i bought my little guy a 28 oz large jar at dollar tree. then another week later i bought him some zoo meds creatures creature soil. and i collected a few sticks from outside. so far i have 4 sticks in his jar. and as food i feed him strawberries and potatoes. so he is happy in his little jar still. so you change the creatures creature soil every 3 to 6 months. that's pretty long. so as far as i know it is a Male. his belly is dark so it would be a Male. i bought 2 cans of vegetables for him, i bought whole potatoes in a can by green giant. and the other can i got was cut green beans. i hope he lives a full life in his cute little home. so i do not like to put his food in the substrate, so i have paper cups and i carved it out with a scissor and i made it out of a small little dish. he loves it. also they need 12/12 hours of lighting, what i do is i have a little table next to my bed that i keep him on, and i have a little lamp
