Any granular pesticide will knock them out. They live under rocks etc. so if you granulate, your sprinklers will add the water and the pesticide will be released slowly over time until it is all dissolved. Just use a hand spreader to put it out like a whirlybird. You can use Deltaguard, Talstar or pretty much any granular to knock them out although it might take a couple applications if you have a lot. A power spray would be better yet but is costly and they are harmless.

i think the writer of this question meant to say, " How to get rid of palmetto bugs?"
To effectively get rid of bugs in dried herbs, you can freeze the herbs for a few days to kill any existing bugs, then store them in airtight containers to prevent future infestations.
Trying to "get rid" of beer bugs or picnic bugs is an exercise in futility. You can't get rid of them. You can divert them however. They are attracted to sweet or fermenting foods. As soon as you open that beer they will be all over it. I know they will be around anyways so I put a bowl full of beer at the opposite end of the yard to let them feast and drown in. It won't keep your BBQ 100% clear of bugs but it will help somewhat.
