When pesticides are sprayed into stagnent pools of water, either by accident or on purpose, small larvae eat the pesticide. Then it gradually travels up the food chain by predators eating their prey.
A lion would likely have the highest accumulation of pesticide due to biomagnification, a process where toxins become more concentrated at each level of the food chain. As lions are apex predators, they consume herbivores and carnivores that have already accumulated pesticides in their bodies from their diets. This means that the concentration of pesticides in lions is significantly higher than in the organisms lower in the food chain. Additionally, lions, being larger and having longer lifespans, have more time to accumulate these toxins.

Pesticides increase in higher trophic levels due to Bilogical magnification .
b/c animals in which the birds are eating are being affected by the pesticides which kills them. If the animals at the lower part of the food chain start to grow extinct then there will be no more food for the animals at the top of the food chains which means they will more than likely die off or become extinct
Land and waterways are affected by pesticides. Other than that, insects and animals that are part of the food chain can be affected.

To indirectly criticize the use of pesticides
because as they contain many chemicals which give benefit to the soil but these chemicals effect the aquatic life and also effects the food chain. That's why over usage of pesticides is harmful.
