To kill it, you must have a protective and hard suit, so the bell hornet can't sting through it. Then, either kill it with a lot of bug spray, a fly swatter, or just step on it. (LOL)

I have always heard "european hornets" or "giant hornets" called "bell hornets" all my life in central VA. I never learned they were the yellow and black "european hornets" until I researched them on the web only to find out nobody really had heard of "bell hornets". Hope this helps.
It takes only 30 hornets to kill 30000 honeybees.
Yes, diatomaceous earth can effectively kill hornets by dehydrating them and causing them to die.

Hornets don't normally nest in the ground. Yellow Jackets nest in the ground. You can kill them by pouring gasoline in the hole and running.
No, bell hornets, also known as European hornets, typically do not nest in the ground. Instead, they usually build their nests in elevated locations such as tree hollows, wall voids, or under eaves of buildings. Their nests are made from paper-like material that they create by chewing wood fibers mixed with their saliva. Ground nesting is more common among other types of wasps and hornets.
Burn it down.
Yes, they do. The feed their larvae on insects they capture.
Hornets should be killed with a very strong spray. Do not attempt to break the nest down as this will cause a swarm of angry hornets.
To kill hornets in Utah, it's best to use an insecticide specifically designed for wasps and hornets, available at garden centers or hardware stores. Spray the insecticide directly into the nest during the evening when hornets are less active. Always wear protective clothing and keep a safe distance. If the infestation is large or you're unsure, consider hiring a professional pest control service to handle the situation safely.
only bumble bees but not wasps or yellow jackets or hornets
