How do you know if your pet snail is dead?

you cant really tell most people say if it has been trod on then its dead but that's not true. me and my brother we are collecting snails cuz we have 20 and he steped on one and it lived and most people also say if its moving its alive that's of course true but if its not moving that doesn't mean its dead cuz my bro poked the snail cuz it wernt moving but it did afterwards so its hard to tell so if u poke it once u stepped on it (if you did) then if it moves u get the point!! hope this helped bye

Put salt on it and if it moves it is alive.. (salt may also kill it if it is not dead already)

to find out if a snail is dad i would suggest putting it near food ie leaves for a few hours and if it dosent move then that means that it is dead
