A female adult bot fly can lay from 300 to 1000 eggs in her short life span. The adult bot fly has no other goal in life than to lay eggs.
Four to seven weeks is the ladybug [Coccinellidaefamily] gestation. There may be one or two offspring, depending upon the particular ladybug type. There may be as many as 1,000 eggs produced over the ladybug's two to three year lifespan.
Each female fly can lay approximately 500 eggs in several batches of about 75 to 150. The eggs are white and are about 1.2 mm in length. Within a day, larvae (maggots) hatch from the eggs; they live and feed in (usually dead and decaying) organic material, such as garbage or faeces. They are pale-whitish, 3-9 mm long, thinner at the mouth end, and have no legs. They live at least one week.
Female millipedes may lay as many as 2,000 eggs, but a few hundred is more likely. THE FEMALE. the only animal that the male lays the eggs (which isn't entirely true because the female makes the egs then GIVES the eggs to the male) is the seahorse.
Squids do not have a very long life span, therefore the female often lays thousands of eggs. Most species of squid lay their eggs in masses on a sea bed but some carry their eggs to guard them.
