Depends. Lot of it is proper maintenance. If you use API-CJ4 oil (since the ULSD in current use doesn't have the lubricity of low sulphur diesel), 1,000,000 miles + out of it before a major in-frame isn't a stretch, especially with anything up to the 6NZ (the MBN, Bridge Cats, and ACERTs were junk, though).
