A June bug is also known as a Japanese beetle and is almost the size of a quarter. The beetle has quickly buzzing wings and tends to hover when it flies. The June bug is black but reflects changing tones of green and blue in the sunlight.
The caterpillar for the Dasychira Pudibunda moth resembles a sponge. This caterpillar is yellow and from a distance looks like a very small sponge.
The life cycle of a caterpillar-looking bug typically involves four stages: egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa (chrysalis), and adult. The bug lays eggs, which hatch into larvae that feed and grow. The larva then forms a pupa, where it undergoes metamorphosis, before emerging as an adult bug.
If the June bug was sprayed with an insecticide your dog could get sick. But, otherwise, it's ok. The June bug is just protein and isn't harmful.
