well it doesnt eat fish but it doesnt eat plants really. it eats tiny particles living and dead well im not sure what a particle is but if there alive that makes them an animal or something right?? well im not sure but i dont really think its a carnivore or a herbivore so what is it?? The sea sponge is probably best classified as an omnivore or a scavenger, since it eats any small organisms and/or plants, or almost anything floating around in the water.
