Pyrethrin is an insecticidal compound derived from the chrysanthemum. It effectively controls a wide variety of garden pests including moths, beetles and slugs. For smaller, soft-bodied insects, an effective insecticidal spray can be made by combining a few drops of thyme essential oil and orange essential oil with a squirt of liquid soap in a spray bottle of water and applying liberally to the affected plants and the soil beneath them. This kills many bugs on contact and is quite safe for humans. With both the homemade spray and the pyrethrin extract, you will need to re-apply after a rainfall as the insecticide is water soluble.
A good anti-pest and bug spray is Badger's. In my opinion, the organic bug sprays are better for your plants than the chemicals. Also, the chemical bug sprays may damage your plants.
BAD idea. You don't want to kill the very plants you want to keep that are infested with bugs, right? Weed killer is meant to kill PLANTS and Bug killer is meant to kill BUGS. There's a reason why their sold separately, and not mixed together!!
[1] Natural bug sprays range from home remedies to organic controls. [2] Popular home remedies tend to involve basil, garlic, soap, or vinegar mixed in water. [3] Organic controls tend to involve insecticidal soap, which is the store-bought equivalent of the dish soap and water home remedy; oils, such as horticultural and neem; and sprays that are made from plants, such as pyrethrin from chrysanthemum.
