Hi. A woodlouse is a bit like an earwig but much wider and shorter. It has a segmented body and is generally black. It has 6 legs on the underside of its body.It has grey/brown colours for camouflage (hide from predators) and a hard body for protection. The pill woodlouse rolls into a ball when frightened, for protection against predators.
