What do snails need to get out their shells?

The only way I know of is to strip down the tank, sterilise everything and replace everything that can not be sterilised. A method of keeping snails under control is to have Clown Loaches or Puffer fish in the tank. They will seek out and eat the snails.

They can't get out of their shells. A snail's shell is part of its body. If you find an empty snail shell, it means that the snail it belonged to has either been eaten or died and rotted away.

to clean your pet shell, take a old toothbrush and gently scrub it while he's resting. DO NOT EVER EVER use soap. the toxins could kill your snail. good luck

Put the snail in hot water. This will kill it and then you can clean it out of the shell. Polish the shell.
