Trap door Spiders live in burrows in the ground, or crevices in the bark of trees for protection. The construction of their home is made from a tube spun with silk, with a trapdoor made from plant materials and soil, held together by more silk. Their camouflage is very effective, however spider wasps actively seek them out, tussle with them, and then paralyse them with a single sting. They will then lay a single egg, and when it hatches the larvae will eat the spider alive, good for the wasp but gruesome for the spider.
