A quotient is the result of dividing one number by another. In mathematical terms, if you divide a number ( a ) (the dividend) by another number ( b ) (the divisor), the resulting value is called the quotient. For example, in the division ( 10 \div 2 = 5 ), the quotient is 5. It represents how many times the divisor can fit into the dividend.
