Plankton is broken down into the three trophic level groups listed below.
Zooplankton: animals, so they consume oxygen (respiration) in the water
Phytoplankton: plants, so they consume oxygen (respiration) in the water, but they also consume CO2 (during photosynthesis). As a result of the process of photosynthesis (autotrophic organisms) they only appear/live in the water where it reaches the solar light (not in the depth of sea).
Bacterioplankton: bacteria and archaea that remineralize organic material.
See the related link listed below for more information:
phytoplankton are autotrophs and zooplankton are heterotrophs
they eat diffeint foods
No corals doesn't eat zooxanthellae they only eat zooplankton. Zooxanthallae helps corals to live and keeps corals colourful. They live on the coral polyps.
The symbiotic relationship between coral polyps and zooxanthellae is called mutualistic, as both organisms benefit from the partnership. Zooxanthellae provide energy through photosynthesis to the coral polyps, while the coral provides shelter and nutrients to the zooxanthellae.
coral reffes are better
personally i do not no how coral reef feeds, that's what i was trying to fond out but now i am writing this. if you want to no how coral reef feeds i suggest you go on to wikipedia and type in coral reef
Almost all coral are predatory, meaning that they capture prey from the water column; this prey is small zooplankton organisms. Some corals also contain a symbiotic algae, called zooxanthellae, that produces sugars and releases some of the sugar to the coral.

no zooplankton dont eat seaweed, and krill eats zooplankton, some whales eat zooplankton, there are also others i cant think of
Zooplankton is found in oceans. The zebra angelfish and the zebra lionfish are also found in the ocean.Other creatures are the Zanzibar whip coral shrimp, zebra moray, zebra shark, zigzag cowry and warty sea slugs.
