Prostomium (sometimes also called acron) is the first body segment in annelids worms. It is in front of (but does not include) the mouth, being usually a small shelf- or lip-like extension over the dorsal side of the mouth. It sometimes bears antennae and eyes. By feeding, it often functions like a kind of overlip. The shape and composition of prostomium are important for annelid systematics.

The prostomium is a structure found in some invertebrates, such as annelid worms. It serves as a cover for the mouth and houses sensory organs like tentacles or palps that help in detecting food and navigating the environment. Additionally, the prostomium can aid in burrowing or feeding activities.

Prostomium
The esophagus of an earthworm is part of the earthworm's digestive tract, between the pharynx and the crop, and it basically just moves the earthworm's food from the pharynx to the crop. It also helps to keep the food from backing up (making the worm barf/throw up).

There are about 30 segments between the prostomium and clitellum of an earthworm. actually this question asked as differently as "How many segments are between the prostomium and clitellum of an earthworm?" see answer for this question.
Prostomium is the frontmost part of the earthworm. This is not called a true segment as it doesn't contain typical organs of an annelida. Peristomium is from where the true segment of the earthworm body starts.
The prostomium is the fleshy lobe located at the anterior end of an earthworm. It covers the mouth and is involved in sensory perception and helping the earthworm navigate its environment.
