They don't have a tail. The fire ant as one but... its more of a stinger
The description matches that of a velvet ant, which is actually a wingless wasp rather than an ant. Velvet ants are known for their bright red and black coloration and dense, fuzzy hair. Despite their ant-like appearance, they have a stinger and can deliver a very painful sting if provoked.
I don't know but I know exactly what you are talking about! These little boogers can sting over and over. They're really tough to kill (ex. in trying to "smash" or "crush" it, seems to be impossible!). Does anyone know what this insect is?!?
Decapitating fly is a bug that is like a fire ant. This insect looks like a ant with wings.
It could be a velvet ant, which is actually a flightless wasp. If it is furry, orange and black it is a velvet ant. These ants can provide a painful sting that lasts for hours so avoid them. If it looks like a small black ant, only orange, it is probably just a red ant.
The spider and ant may be both invertabretes but the ant is not part of the spider family.
Cow killer. Its a wingless wasp that looks like a huge red ant, may not always be red. But most of the time is.

The "chick" that looks like an ant-eater is Renee Zellweger and the song playing in the background is called Roll To Me by Del Amitri.

A bug that looks like a black flying ant and that gets in pools is actually a black flying ant. Ant colonies produce virgin queens and males with wings to take flight and start new colonies with individuals from other nests.
