Some grass and an apple slice or wet paper towel - a new one every day if you're keeping them for a couple days - they won't live long though! Maybe just keep them for the night and let them go as soon as you can.
"I got misty eyes as they said farewell, But I'll know where several are, If my dreams get real bizarre, Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar!" FIREFLIES!
Yes! If you care for fireflies properly, they can live for up to a month or more! Obtain a damp plastic/glass jar and place grass on the base of the jar. If you intend to release them the following day, this will suffice. However, if you want to care for them through their entire lifespan, more needs to be done. Place a leaf, sugar water, and some soft-bodied insects so that the fireflies have a choice of what to eat. Then place the fireflies in. Place some mesh on all the openings. Now put the fireflies jar in a warm, damp place. KEEP THE JAR HUMID.
Give it freedom as they do not live long inside a jar.
To catch fireflies in a jar, wait until dusk when they are most active. Approach them slowly and gently scoop them up into a jar. Be sure to poke holes in the lid of the jar for ventilation and release them back into the wild after observing them for a short period.
you can't get it anymore.

Yes, but you should keep them in a separate jar, preferably unopened.
