A lot of species of stick insects are parthenogenic meaning they do not need to mate to produce fertile eggs. If a female mates with a male the eggs ill be both male and female if not the eggs will all be female.

No they don't the only time something like this would happen is when another Stick Insect (which must be thick literally) bites another Stick Insect which than causes a fight, this tends to happen to me a lot.

Yes, the females of all stick insects lay eggs. Some females mate but in some species the female can successfully lay eggs without the help of a male. This is called parthenogenesis.

No but they can eat their babies because they are tiny. Keep the babies in a different tank than the adults. Hope this helped :)
