Yes, the scolopendra gigantea, the giant Amazon centipede, is a myriapod under phylum Arthropoda.
The giant desert centipede's taxonomy is as follows: Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Arthropoda Class: Chilopoda Order: Scolopendromorpha Family: Scolopendridae Genus: Scolopendra Species: S. heros
To my knowledge the blue ring centipede is actually Ethmostigmus trigonopodus, but is often sold in the pet trade (incorrectly) as S. morsitans. S. morsitans is actually the scientific name for the Egyptian emerald centipede. Anyway that's all I know.

What!?! Do you live in South East Asia? I keep Scolopendra subspinipes and it is the LAST thing you would want crawling around your home. However, unless you live in South East Asia you will not have to worry about it. There are Scolopendra sp. that live in the U.S. but not subspinipes and not even close in size or venom potency.
Arthropoda is the scientific name. It is the name of the Phylum Arthropoda, the phylum of arthropods and includes insects, arachnids, crustaceans, sea spiders, centipedes and millipedes.
Scolopendra subspinipes was created in 1815.
