It should but if it doesnt work you can try making a small circle around your plants with salt. This acts as a barrier so the slugs have no way of getting over the salt.
I know it works for snails....... put a little beer in the bottom of a container and place in your garden, depending on what typr of container, arrange it so the snail/slug can get in. They will crawl in and then drown in the beer. Doesn't matter what sort of beer

You can keep slugs away from your cat's food by placing the food bowl on a raised platform or using a shallow moat of water around the bowl to create a barrier that slugs cannot easily cross. Additionally, regularly cleaning up any spilled food and keeping the feeding area clean and dry can help deter slugs.
They may have been imported to your yard, in a new plant, from a nursery. They multiply like crazy and love moisture and various plants. They can damage your plants, as they are doing that to mine at this time. You can use a salt barrier as long as there are no plants that will get damaged or dig a small hole, place a bowl in the hole that is obviously the same size, so that it is flush with the ground. Fill it with beer and the snails and slugs will be attracted to the beer and drown in it. Discard them before they take over by the hundreds or more.
