Black widow spider bites rarely killpeople, but it's important to get medical attention as soon as you can because they can make you very sick also most times the spider will not inject poison but if it does you shaould get medical treatment as fast as possible.

The venom of the black widow spider is highly toxic. If you get enough of it for your body weight so that the concentration of venom in your system gets too high, then you will die unless you get an anti-venom injection. Nobody has died in places where anti-venom is available, but many people die all over the world where good medical treatment is not available. Infants and children are at higher risk because the concentration of venom from one bite is much higher than it would be for an adult who weighs perhaps ten times as much. People who are already in trouble because of some disease, something like a heart condition, etc., or who are just very old are also at higher risk. Since there are very few outdoor toilets, not many adult males are put in danger due to a bite in a body area that is particularly rich in its blood supply. Evidently it matters a great deal whether the dose is rapidly delivered throughout the body, or whether it is sort of confined to one part of the body and so gives the body time to mount a defense against it before it reaches some vital organ.

So, yes, venom from a black widow can kill a human, but if you are a healthy adult you will probably survive even if anti-venom is not available. That is not to say that you will enjoy the experience, however.

One thing that confuses the picture is that, like most Spiders, black widows are not vindictive biters. They generally bite people because they are being pinched, squeezed, or otherwise injured. So as soon as the human stops causing them pain they will stop biting. So people will often claim that being bitten by a black widow is not a real threat--simply because they got away without getting hurt.
