I hate to sound like such a wet blanket; I know what it is like to be very young and energized by the possibility of a noted career in the arts. Acting and music were the 'possibilities' for me. If you are one of the truly lucky and talented few, you might 'hit it big' and have a wonderful career. My prediction is that you are not one of them, no matter how much talent you have.
With that said, you should pursue your passion with everything you've got, and do all the networking you can manage. You must already know that there are many well known community theaters, and many independent film makers who sometimes generate excitement over a tried and true talent. But please, don't give up your day job if it is humanly possible not to. Oh. and... break a leg!
