Well, honey, I hate to burst your bubble, but most places won't hire a 13-year-old to shovel horse poop. You're a bit young for that kind of work, but hey, you can always try asking if they need someone to pet the ponies or something. Just don't get kicked in the process, okay?

A lot of times yes. It may be payed by the chore. Example:clean tack for $10. Or maybe pay will be an exchange for riding time. Check with stables close to your home and don't forget to get a parent's permission, especially if you will need transportation to and from the stable. There is almost always stalls to clean, horses to groom, blankets taken off and on, and the list is endless. If you do find work make sure you do your chores with a good attitude. We have all had to clean stalls and shine someone else's boots. With horses, almost nobody starts at the top. And learn all you can. Life-time horse people are still learning and asking questions.
