By subdividing a cicle into ever decreasing sectors and calculating the dimensions using pythagarus theorem a better and better approximation of the value of pi can be arrived at. The exact value of pi has not yet been calculated (possibly does not exist). All we have (made available by very very accurate computers) is a better and better approximation.
