When my wife and I managed two hotels, we learned quickly that we were on the job 24/7. If anything went wrong, we had to be up and on it right away. We couldn't just take a trip any time we wanted. So it was confining. Hotel managers have to balance good customer service and high occupancy rates with the number of employees to keep the profit margin as high as possible. Managing a hotel in a resort area doesn't always mean a life of leisure.
