Ive flown both airbus and Boeing in the past 25 years of my career so I can onl judge those two makes The best I have personally ever flown is without a doubt the Airbus A330, It is the easiest to fly and the most powerfull As with a Boeing 767 ( an aircraft of equal size) you can spend about 20 mins climbing to an altidude of 30,000ft where as with an airbus you can use only about 60% throttle and climb that altitude even quicker. Airbus also use very sophisticated onboard computers to stop the aircraft from exeeding its limitations (However these can be switched of for airshow demonstrations incorperating very steep climbs and turns) As far as comfort is concerned Airbus beats Boeing again, However as a pilot flies both of these aircraft more and more, He notices a certain thing which an Airbus will never have as much of as Boeing.......ALL Boeings have Character which makes them feel like a real Pilots aircraft. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is only my personal opinion, but I believe that Boeing beats Airbus hands down. I can understand why some might prefer Airbus for performance reasons, but to me, they are WAY to complicated and WAY too technological. They rely too much on computers and other technologies. Boeing aircraft are simpler and actually require a pilot to use his or her head. Not to be taken offensively by any Airbus fans, but I see the pilot of an Airbus being more of a computer operator than a pilot. I also think that Douglas and McDonnell Douglas made some very nice aircraft such as the DC-9 and the MD-80. I was very disappointed when Boeing discontinued the DC-9 family in 1997. I'm DEFINITELY not a big fan of technology or performance. I like the old airliners that can be considered real planes. The ones that you have to be a real "pilot" to fly.... The airliners that ROAR over your head and shake the ground as they take off. Like the DC-9, MD-80, 727 etc... Not these modern ones that sound like nothing more than a light whistle. But if you are asking what the greatest airliner of all time is, I would definitely have to say that title goes to the Boeing 727. Nothing can compare to the old 727s. Again, this is simply my personal opinion. ;]
