The Border Patrol just stopped accepting new applications because they have enough people in the hiring process to fill all the positions they have funding for this fiscal year. The fiscal year ends in September. Then they will generally have to at least hire enough agents to account for attrition (retirement, job changes, etc). This is on top of any special money that is allocated to beef up the ranks beyond the current staffing levels. So they will most likely be hiring, just perhaps not at the rate they have been for the past couple of years.
