Kentucky state law requires a minimum of eight hours rest between shifts. Kentucky also requires a ten minute break for every four hours worked.
In Pennsylvania, the law does not specify a minimum number of hours required between shifts for most workers. However, employers are encouraged to provide sufficient rest periods for employee health and safety. Certain industries or job roles may have specific regulations regarding shift hours, so it's best to consult applicable labor laws or company policies for specific guidelines.

Typical shift hours for Chicago fire departments often follow a 24-hour shift schedule, where firefighters work for 24 hours and then have 48 hours off. This pattern allows for continuous coverage while ensuring that firefighters have adequate rest between shifts. The shifts usually begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at 7:00 a.m. the following day. However, variations may occur based on specific assignments and departmental needs.

The rest of the state is in the Eastern Time Zone, which is five hours behind U.T.C. (four hours during daylight saving time).
California is on Pacific Standard Time (GMT -8) and Florida is on Eastern Standard Time (GMT - 5), so there is a three hour difference between the two locations. Example: If it were 12:00 pm (noon) in California, it would be 3:00 pm in Florida.

Florida joined the Confederacy and served in the War between the States with the rest of the Confederate states. It was probably doubly hard for the Florida men to leave Florida to deploy to other states
To the best of my knowledge, there are no laws governing this aspect of employement. In other words, your employer could have you work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as long as they pay you overtime for all hours worked over 40 in one work week (or over 8 in one work day if your rate of pay is less than 1.5x the minimum wage). See NRS 608 for more information on Nevada Labor Laws. Personally, I find this is something that needs to be addressed, as many employers will schedule shifts without ample time to rest between, thus leading to unsafe working environments.
