Even though flight attendants usually take orders from the pilots and passengers on a typical flight, they are also able to command the passengers (excluding the pilots) with a delicate sense of authority. They may request everyone to go back to their seat and fasten their seatbelt, or maybe to keep their laptops before landing in a very dear but demanding way. Anyhow flight attendants commands are basically in concern with everyone's safety, security, comfort and even convenience.

There was one story a Philippine Airlines Captain said in one of his flight, among of their passengers was a Basketball team who just won their game, so pride was all in their heads and they keep on standing, talking aloud, bragging, boasting until it became inconvenient to other passengers. They tried to talk them over to go back to their seat, but some of them never seemed to take action. Soon after in-flight service was about to begin, some of them are asked to go back to their seats as they are about to begin their in flight service, again none of them just ignored the request. Desperate, they tried to call the captain to do something about their basketball team, as funny as he was thinking, he immediately jerked the yoke of the 747 as if it was encountering turbulence. The jumbo jet suddenly fly in a crooked, and pattern while cabin lights are played by the co-pilot. The then suddenly received a call from the main galley and all he heard was "Captian, effective!" After he switched the autopilot on again, we went down to the lavatory only to have a glimpse of the reactions of the team. Unbelievably, these 6 footer men were tightly strapped in their seats trembling in fear as the Captain and his cabin crews just looked at him and smiled.
