In the majority of work-based or voluntary environments there will be polices that an individual finds inappropriate, disagreeable or plain not working. Unless you have the authority to make changes or suggest changes then you are expected to enforce and support the organisations policies. When accepting a role in the company you accept how it is run. There are some very good practices out there where employees feed in to the policy making and auditing system. This allows them to to pass constructive comment on such matters and give a differing view point to the policy application. These companies normally have a good quality management ethos and have rid themselves of autocratic management style
