Short notes capture major points about a subject. It's similar to the list of ingredients in a recipe, but short notes can be longer than a few words for each item. In a way, it's more similar to a "To Do" list or a "Shopping List", except Short Notes are usually about a school subject.

For example, if your teacher is instructing on the Civil War, you'd want to capture these points:

  • Year it began and ended
  • Who were the fighting parties
  • Why were they fighting
  • primary leaders (example, Generals)
  • Major battles (as an indented list)
  • Effects on citizens (women, children, non-enlisted)
  • How did it end
