One thing to focus on is course work, this is because for some exam boards controlled assessments add up to 60%. They are easy to get As or A*s in which then means you rely less on the actual examinations and then you can then improve your marks even more at the end when you receive your results.

For the examination, work on you vocabulary, spelling and grammar etc you give your work the extra boost between a B and A grade, the A to A*s (for an A* 'complex language' is extremely important) as well as learning the structure of the paper, what to include in your answers as well as completing as many practice papers as possible.
